Video/Mkv files help? what is wrong?

I downloaded an MKV file of 2 Broke Girls so when I play it in VLC player, it works fine but it has this green/purple like bar on the one side. SRY don’t know how to describe it but u might know what I mean. how do i get it off? I download only MKV files and this is the first time it happens and only this one.
That’s most likely to be that one file issue. Download from a different source.

yeah, it may be an issue with the file (as has been said) or it may be some issue with player.
I would recommend getting the CCCP (very popular, easy and works well on a lot of computers) and maybe try SMPlayer, it also comes bundled with all the codecs and mplayer so it generally works right off the bat.
The download file should have missed a part or problem with the player-play it using kmplayer or download the parts again.
It sounds like it wasn’t cropped properly. Either get another copy encoded by someone else or crop it using a media player or Directshow codec media player such as Media Player Classic with ffdshow that supports cropping.
