USB stop working on Windows7

January 21st, 2020

Well, 2 days ago I turned on my pc and all the USB devices werent working… So, I went to Device Management and says something about Code 10, something like windows dont loading properly the drivers…
But, updating manually the drivers, everything works again… But is like the windows doesnt save the config, because everytime the Pc is reseted, the error persists… To make the USB works have to uninstall/ manually update the drivers…
Windows 7 x64
Anyone knows what this could be?

Answer #1
Code 10
If the device has a “FailReasonString” value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator places this registry string value there. If there is no “FailReasonString” in the hardware key, the following generic error message is displayed:
This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed. (Code 10)
Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.
Solution button: Update Driver
To resolve this error code, make sure the device is connected to the computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully and that all adapter cards are properly seated. Follow the suggested solution button and update the device driver. It may be possible to remove the device and redetect it using the Add New Hardware wizard.

All the devices are connected and the working… But when the windows starts, its like the USB ports dont start… So, I have to update the drive manually for each usb Host Controller…
So, I’ve updated the driver, but when the windows restarts, its like it cant load it properly…
Answer #3
ID you chipset and D/L the chipset drivers from their website
Answer #4
The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA69vm-S2 with a ATI 690v chipset… And didnt found the usb drivers for win7 x64
Btw, is strange because I’m using win 7 from more than 3 months without any problems, and then got this one suddenly…
Answer #5
integrated video ?
if so try installing the latest video drivers from ATI, as it’s integrated into the chipset
Answer #6
The motherboard have integrated video, but I’m using a 8800GT… And only found drivers for the integrated video, which I dont use…
Bu the weird is if I remove all the usbs from device manager, windows recognize them… And them everything works fine… So doesnt seems to be a old driver problem..
But after reboot, the problem returns…

it is a device driver conflict, but finding out which is the trick here. so what did you install recently before this? has anything change within the bios setup controlling the USB?

Maybe a “fake” pendrive I’ve used few days ago… The windows freezes during the file transfer, so later I knew it was fake and defective…
Everything is fine on Bios, USB enabled and updated Bios as well… But the strange is, if I remove every USB devices and then “Check for New Hardware”, windows reinstall all of them and everything works fine again…
But is just restart the PC and the error comes again…
And How to Do Windows Repair? I’ve looked and didnt find a Restore Point before this error happened…
Answer #11
And only found drivers for the integrated video
those may also include you chipest deiver, as I see not chipset driver listed separately
