USB Problems, Need Help
August 4th, 2016
My mouse and keyboard are both USB and there ok but whenever I try my flash drive
it’s really slow 1-3MB/s, I’m sure it used to be faster.
I tried the microsoft hotfix but it says “this update is not applicable to your computer”
Any sugestions.
What exactly make you believe it used to be “faster”? Is it just a feeling
or do you specifically remember that it was faster? Also, What OS & Service pack are you using?
Have you tried a different USB port? Try a rear one.
Edit: And are you referring to a single flash drive or multiple? It’s kinda hard to tell from your post.
Be aware that you can transfer larger files quicker than you can lots of smaller files.
Sounds like a typical USB 1.1 connection.

Hi guys I’m still having trouble
The usb ports are crap (I think)
I have a verbaitium store and go 8GB and a gigabyte G31M-ES2L motherboard.
It’s a modern motherboard so it’s surly usb 2.0.
I got the latest chipset driver from gigabyte but when ever I try and put a film on my Flash Drive
it says like 60-70 MB/s but sticks on the last bit for about 10-15 minutes.
I heard it was a problem with windows 7 64bit (witch I have) but I can’t install the hotfix
I just get the error “this update is not applicable to your computer”.
I’m really loosing it, lol
Any suggestions?

FYI, All motherboards since 2001 have USB 2.0.
And most motherboards made in the last 2.5 years have 3.0 too.
But for the record, Yours only have 2.0. when ever I try and put a film on my Flash Drive
it says like 60-70 MB/s but sticks on the last bit for about 10-15 minutes.
What your saying doesn’t make sense. USB 2.0 has a maximal transfer rate of 30 MB/s.
But the actual read/write speeds are determined by the manufacturer, So some FD’s are faster than others. Also, The size of the files you’re transferring can affect it as well. Do a benchmark
with ATTO and post the results: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/ATTO-Disk-Benchmark.shtml
