Unlocking 4th core edit:[SOLVED]

November 20th, 2013

well this is not mine.. as u can see in the image i have processor AMD athlon II X3 450 3.2ghz
the motherboard is Asus M2N68 am 3 that support Core unlocker..
can anyone tell me if this processor and mother board can unlock 4th core or quad core?

Answer #1
In the bios but your motherboard has to support it. I don’t know if the 7050PV chipset supports it.
Furthermore, the 4th core might be defective. All the X3’s are just X4’s that failed testing. If you can unlock the core, there is a chance your cpu won’t boot afterwards and you will have to clear the cmos and reboot.
PS: Just Google it dood…

Its an Asus board, my Crosshair has 3 methods of unlocking, core unlocker in advanced/cpu configuration or just press a button on the keyboard while bootup or push the motherboard button.
This is just for you to know that cheap boards will come with only 1 method and the name will be not obvious.
The names for different brands will be different, so I assume that your one will be called Automatic Clock Calibration.
Must set that to enable, one of the tabs on Hybrid, all cores etc.
In some cases you can’t POST, just change the CMOS jumper or remove the battery.
Here is one of your average core unlocking information:
