Type of Game Download?

October 26th, 2013

Hey thanks in advance for any help.
Pretty much the description… Whats the difference between the different types of game download?
“Preload, repack, blackbox, multi10, razor1911 ect. Whats the difference?”
I prefer full game ISO’s but what I don’t understand is the pros and cons of each type (there’s so many!)
I know how to use them and install them, but if for example I get a game like Skyrim and I want to patch it, get a DLC, or modd it?

Razor1911 is a cracking group, thats why you would see the name at the end of files, same goes with Skidrow.
Repack is afaik exactly what is says, the files have been repacked. e.g when a game is leaked uploaders will upload without a crack, and then on release day will add the crack as a seperate file. A repack is basically all the files together, the crack and the game.
Preload, I dont know tbh. I think its when a games released before the official release day, im not sure.
Multi10 is the format its released in I think, again im not sure.
Blackbox? no clue.

Most games will come in ISO form unless its a steam leak (not always) in which you case you would have to use pheonix to extract and whole load of other nonsense. Some games will come with the ISO extracted, in this case you just need to run setup or copy the crack and play.
