Trying to make my compaq presario cq62-231nr a bit faster
August 4th, 2016
i have a compaq presario cq62-231nr and it only has 2gb ram and until i can upgrade it i wanted to know if yal can suggests any techniques or just suggestions to help it perform faster, optimizations, which software to try to help it, anything is welcome!
thanks in advance!
Cut the crap out. Check in msconfig in the startup tab and taskmanager and see which process are useless and load at startup and delete them. Next do a defrag.
double the ram as well, never mind what OS you have, it is the best money you can spend on a PC
heyal thanks for the replies, i have done the the startup and i know i need the extra ram but until then i guess i gotta suffer….dayuuuuuum huh lol!
am posting a new help needed maybe yal could take a look and offer some suggestions
thanks again!
You have antivirus and firewall set up already right?
What OS are you running? Defragmentation, msconfig to minimize programs that startup (thus running in the background), registry cleaning, uninstall unneeded programs, and a lightweight anti-virus (ESET, MSE…)
Also, having more than 25% free disk space would also held read times.
Try Advanced System Care by IObit. It should clean up well.

hi,
do u find that this program is reliable?
i was told ages ago not to use such programs that optimize etc can you expand on this please?
thanks!
forget windows, get yourself Linux.
Software optimization software is a crock of ~love~, they are all placebo’s, the only way to increase the performance on that laptop is to switch to an SSD (noticeable increase), increase amount of RAM, replace the processor with a compatible higher level performance one (AMD, so this should be reasonably priced)

thanks Serenity,
i figured as much!
i appreciate everyone’s replies!!
:::UPDATE:::
the laptop [stupid me for not remembering or knowing this] has max 8gb ram
so will be looking to getting some new ram ..when i can afford it..surprisingly it wasn’t that expensive either.
thanks again!
