Switch Fn and Ctrl button on keyboard?

August 12th, 2013

Hey guys, I’v bough a new keyboard and I have Fn button on my bottom left (left of ctrl) .. And I just cant get used to it.. I always press Fn instead of ctrl (like fn+c to copy etc) .. So is there a program or a way to switch those two? They are the same size so I could change the buttons theirselfs just for the “look”… Thanks!

Maybe with using Autohotkey. It’s scripting language (I think they are called that, but I dont know why). I have used it sometimes to remap buttons.  http://www.autohotkey.com/ It’s free and open source. However once you set the script up it has to always run in the background for the remapping to work. If you are good at programming you can just do it on your own. If you need help I can try to code that script myself, but I am really slow at it and I dont know the proper commands yet. I will take a while.
After some research I have to say, that remapping the Fn-Key is pretty hard or even impossible on some notebooks. More info in this thread:  http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/topic298.html Sorry for the bad news.
