when i push the power button nothing happens.. there’s still power though, the green light is on, on the back of the tower.. just not actually switching on :/ what could be wrong?
Answer #1
Your description is quite confusing,Are you saying that it powers up but nothing appears on the screen or that it doesn’t power up at all?
Answer #2
check the connections on the back of the monitor and the back of the computer
do you hear the fans running or is it completed dead with the led light ?
check the power supply if it is connected properly to the graphics card/other hardware.
Answer #3
It could be many things, but as Roberto has said – you are not being specific enough.
Is the “green light” a diagnostic light, and if so what is the manufacturer/model of the pc.
Try and post as much info about the components of the pc as possible.
*EDIT – You have my real life initials as your username
Answer #4
First make sure all cables are properly attached.
Have you changed any hardware recently?
If you open up your case, can you see a light in the motherboard? (is the computer running with CPU and all?)

lol, also my initials.. anyways,
there was no power in it at all, if i clicked the power up button it didn’t light up, nothing at all came on.. but with the power cable plugged in, the green light still came on, on the back of the tower.. the power supply thing, but the computer was no switching on, then i did something bad.. there’s a switch on the back of my tower for the power supply, i switched it, and it went bang.. :/ then the light went of, soo now i know my power supply is broke, but a friend told me it would of just blown a fuze on the power supply.. can i change that?
Edit: i have a ‘Dell Vostro 200’ computer.
