Star Wars Blu Ray 5.1 audio problem

February 4th, 2014

I’m playing the Star Wars Blu Rays on my HTPC with a 5.1 surround sound setup…and for some reason, the voices will only play through the front channel which makes them significantly quieter than the rest of the movie (sound effects and what not). The audio option on the Blu Ray is set to 6.1 DTS master, but there is no 5.1 setup (for English anyway).
Anyone got any suggestions?

Answer #1
what software player are you using and what’s the setting of the audio filter ?
but there is no 5.1 setup (for English anyway)
the non-english setting work better for vocals ?
if yes – prob the disk is the problem
if no – prob a player problem
Answer #2
Eh? Voices are supposed to be in the center channel. Raise the volume of center channel on your recevier if it’s too quiet.
Answer #3
I don’t have a receiver…just a 5.1 setup plugged into the motherboard.
Answer #4
There must be something wrong with some DTS decoding then. Do other movies work? What are you using to play the file?
Answer #5
Other movies work fine, and the only software I can find that provides set top like functionality is PowerDVD.
