stacking electronics/electromagnetic interference
August 7th, 2016
We got some new tech for chrstmas but im short on space where to put in my room. A while ago i heard people saying you shouldnt stack electronic things because the hard disk and electronics in it can interfere with other electronic devices. but i dunno if thats true or just an old wives tale?
Basically i need to put my laptop on top of my xbox360 and my portable hard drives ontop of the laptop (which is set up to external monitor external keyboard etc so im not using it the traditional way) im alo putting my ps3 on top of my hifi system.
do you think doing thsi will cause any damage to any components? Thanks
Magnets in speakers can screw up hard drives. Your biggest worry would probably be ventilation so things don’t heat uup with lack of air flow. Some electronics can cause interference, mind you cheap Xmas fairy lights especially the flashing ones can interfere with wi-fi signal.
