[solved][thnx]Anyone running The Sims 2 on windows vista?

i just downloaded and installed The Sims 2 (i’m running win.vista) and when i opened it up, it said that the program has compatibility issues:

and then: when i replaced the Sims2.exe file with the crack and ran it in compatibility mode win xp sp2 this came up:

when i ran Sims2.exe crack (not in compatibility mode) it said that it couldn’t find the correct cd-rom
what the heck is going on?!! i’ve ran out of ideas: what do i do now?

[update] i just mounted a sim2 image and it still didn’t work – it told me to ‘insert the correct cd-rom’
[update] i installed the update for sims 2 and it still doesn’t work – it says to insert the correct cd-rom then i used the crack and no hope!
[update] i just re-installed sims 2 in compatibility mode but it still comes up with the same notifications

i think u might have deeper problems i installed sims 1 and 2 with all update packs on my sisters laptop and its working fine all with the exception too poor graphics in vista ill look into it a bit more for ya

Have you tried clicking that button saying “Check for solutions online” ?

right click the shortcut press properties then go to the comparability and run it as administrator and as windows xp sp2 that fixed it for me

yep cool it worked! just had to run as administrator and run it in xp sp2 compatibility mode

VISTA IS THE BIGGEST LOAD OF GARBAGE IVE EVER RUN,
ive tried doing what you guys have suggested above, and yet it keeps saying something about DirectX 9.0c
ive downloaded DirectX 9.0 and yet i cant get it working, any suggestions
