[SOLVED]Removing Batman from registry

August 12th, 2013

Hi there,
Since I share my computer with my girlfriends kid (well he uses mine hehe), he sometimes manages to mess up something, this time he has deleted the Batman folder, and I can’t reinstall it. When I try to “uninstall” it from the registry, it gives me this:

I’ve tried putting in the .iso file again, to see if I could just reinstall files, but that aint possible either:

How can I remove it from the registry, when it won’t allow me to? Google gives me no direct answer – and incase it does with you, my apologies for wasting your time.

Answer #1
Hey you tried running a registry scan with a program like CCleaner?
That may do it.
Answer #2
Yup, many times even.
Thanks for commenting and reading.
EDIT: Did do it again, and it did remove it from the registry – atleast I can’t find it anywhere – but I am still unable to reinstall the game.
Answer #3
Use Revo Uninstaller to remove the game completely, so that you can reinstall it later.
Answer #4
See the problem is, there’s nothing to uninstall. I need to know how to remove it from the registry – so that I can reinstall it. The files are all deleted, except the registry files.
Answer #5
Revo Uninstaller allows you to look up your entire system (including registry) and remove all of the entries. If it doesn’t detect the game, then try this:
Please be aware if the Registry Editor is used incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.
- Select the “Start” menu and go to the run menu text field (start search)
- Type “regedit” to open the registry editor.
- Delete the following 3 folders only.
-
Batman: Arkham Asylum that can be found in the file structure:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Eidos Interactive Limited / Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham Asylum that can be found in the file structure:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / RocksteadyLtd / Batman Arkham Asylum
{4E79A60F-15D2-4BEC-91AD-E41EC42E61B0} that can be found in the file structure:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\{4E79A60F-15D2-4BEC-91AD-E41EC42E61B0}
- Exit the Regedit program and reboot your machine.
- Insert the Batman: Arkham Asylum DVD-ROM if autorun is not enabled select “autorun.exe” on the disc directory.
- Press “Install game” (This will then take you through the uninstall game process).
- Press “Install game” again to reinstall the game.
I just deleted the whole of the eidos and Rocksteady folders using the registry editor then the last file didnt show up at all. After that (with no need to restart computer) the install option will highlight again and you can install the game
Edit:
Windows 7 entry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Rocksteady Ltd\Batman Arkham Asylum]

I did the following: Look for the following files from Batman Arkham Asylum and and copy them to \Windows\system32\
FirewallInstallHelper.dll
GameuxInstallHelper.dll
EULA.dll
Then, Go to: \Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\ and delete everything in it.
Game is now installling perfectly!

It was my fault, I only posted the solution for Windows XP, didn’t even notice you were using Windows 7. I made an edit and it was easy for you to miss.
I’m glad it worked, have fun!
