[SOLVED]i NEED HELP BACKING UP MY PC!

Hi i have a dell computer the model is Dimension E520 they give you 2 hard disks one is the hard drive where all the windows file and program files etc are and the other one is a recovery disk which is good :mrredhat: but i dont know how to use it and I want to backup my pc for a rainy day how do i do this also i am using Windows Vista Ultimate.

There are plenty of programs available out there which allow you, for example, to create a recovery partition. A recovery partition is an image of your computer in it’s condition at the time of creation (of the partition obviously). However, if you don’t want your existing recovery partition just delete it and use Norton Partition Magic to create a new one. You can also use Acronis True Image and Norton Ghost to create a reconvery disk which would serve a similar purpose. However, if you just want to backup your data it would be better to save it to a Flash drive or burn it onto disks. Sorry if I’m not making much sense but I’m kinda tired and a little drunk

just back ur files up on a dvd, dont touch the recovery disk its for when u wanna re-install windows not to back up your files

i want to back up my whole pc not just the files i used norton ghost before so then how do i take a image of my pc in it’s condition at the time of creation and keep it lock away in a DVD cd useing Norton Partition Magic or Ghost. ?

For that purpose use Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image. That will create a recovery disk. Then just keep the disk until you need to recover from it. Good luck mate and again sorry if I’m not making much sense ^_^
