August 4th, 2016
When I Check My Speed Through speedtest.net I Get Speeds From 60kB\s To 140kB\s And 190 To 360 Ping Can Anyone Tell Me Why This Is Happening And Is There A Way To Increase The Speed More Thanks And By The Way My Upload Speed Is Always Less Than 13kB\s
Magnified Using Magnifier
And Is There A Way To Increase The Speed More
Get a better isp.
u wont get anything faster though 3rd party applications so don’t even bother trying, u will just get yourself a virus.
your line is restricted by your ISP depending on how old / how far u are from the switch box, or by your ISP plan.
no real way to speed it up other then closing other applications that might use internet connection, Teamspeak, Steam, Firefox, est est
It is impossible to achieve faster Internet speeds than what your ISP/contract and/or exhange can handle.
And Is There A Way To Increase The Speed More
Get a better isp.
Agreed
Dude there is no way to increase speed or else I would be downloading at 10GBps instead of 100KBps
Get a better plan
Your ISP plan?
1. you shouldn’t capitalize the first letter of every word.
2. 390kbps is not huge. i download at ten times that.
3. IDM uses parallel connections, which explains the boost in speed. but don’t expect more without upgrading your plan with your ISP.
Guys I Am Totally Happy With My ISP It Give Me Quite Good Browsing Speed And My Download Speed Is Awesome At A Very Low Cost I Just Have To Pay 275 INR($5.94) Per Month With Unlimited Upload And Download.
My ISP Gives Upto 8mb\s But The Plan I Have Taken Has Upto 512kb\s Speed But I Get Speeds Upto 3.3mb\s
@ This Is My Way Of Writing In Internet And I Am Not Talking About 390kilobit per second I Am Talking About 390kiloBytes per second Byte Is 8times More Than bits Which Means I Get 3mb\s Speed

Writing like that on the Internet makes you look nothing more than an idiot who can’t type.
390KB/s is consistent with an Internet connection of about 3.5-4Mb/s.
To me, it just sounds as if your ISP have made a mistake, either that or IDM has misinterpreted, which it can, and does do.
so why bother with firefox download speed when IDM is great.
@ I Know That My Typing Is Stupid But I Am Typing Like This From When I First Came To Internet At The Age Of 11 And I Don’t Want To Leave It,
I Am Not Doing This To Show That I Am Cool Or Different Form Others LOL.
I Think This Is The Mistake Of My ISP As I Am Downloading Files With These Speed From The Past 3 Months
So What Does You All Think Shall I Inform My ISP About This
If you were paid an extra 100, would you complain about it? No, so don’t tell your ISP. You’re getting more than you’re paying for.
As for typing like that, I’d suggest changing it. You don’t want to type like that in a work place, or on a CV or something.

I’m not going to lie, your #1 made me laugh.
390KB/s is consistent with an Internet connection of about 3.5-4Mb/s.
Indeed, I’m sure he thought his ISP plan was 3.3MB/s instead 3.3Mb/s. It’s a common marketing scheme to fool the average person who doesn’t pay attention to small details or just don’t know the difference.
3300 / 8 = 412.5 KB/s so you’re nearly maxing it.
If you’re getting more than you’re paying for, i suggest you keep it for yourself & enjoy IDM & avoid browser downloads.

Indeed.
My old 4Mb Cable connection would download at about 450KB/s. My 10Mb downloads at around 1.25MB/s.
As a programmer, I know how IDM works.
Whenever you start a download, your PC gets a ultra fast speed for the first 1-3 secs, and then it slows down, what IDM does is simply re-contact the site you got the file from and request a number of building blocks that are needed for the actual file, and it gets new blocks every second, so its SUPER fast.
Just logical and very good, but I hate the integration.
+ you can’t get higher speeds then what IDM is getting you without change of ISP.
@ thanks for your suggestion I think i shall not use my capitalization
everywhere.
@Bladesta75 I think you shall read carefully cause i wrote above 360kB\s
390 KiloBytes per sec is decent. I download at 1.5 MegaByte per second. If you are in India, can you tell me the ISP name? I’ll subscribe to that as well
My ISP is BSNL.
Thanks Everyone
It’s elementary..
Because you type in capitol letters..The bits get converted to Bytes..
Hence the increase in download speed..
…No ~love~ Sherlock…
I use BSNL at home. But I get 230 KiloBytes/s only. Which plan are you in?
Which service in INDIA provides u speed of 412.5KB/s [3Mb/s] for Rs.275?
The cheapest is Broadband of 250Rs with speeds UPTO 2MB/s but comes with limit of 1gb. and wireless cheapest is BSNL nic card which gives unlimited for speed of 115Kbps!!
If i have got mixed up with kB,KB etc etc, i am sorry, it irritates me
I also get the same problem when i download from firefox it shows very less speed and when i download from IDM it give really high speed.
just try download add-ons in firefox. they will help you out. there are a lot of add-ons for downloading just try anyone of them.
by the way in which state do u live…..?
bcoz of ur plan since i had not seen this plan anywhere in bsnl site
Well I think I have got BSNL 2G card but my network goes to BSNL 3G
@ I am not mixing up can’t you see the picture
@ I in the same unlimited plan
i dint telll u mixed uo, i said i might have mixed up in what i have written
Relax buddy.
So u r using ur phone as modem?
Download speeds will vary according to network congestion also
idm speeds up internet speed but very little it will speed 15% more
Yes upgrade your ISP plan.
I have 25 Mbps
Lol, yesterday I tested my 2 computers on speedtest (they use the same connection, the old pc is with wire and new laptop wireless) The old pc got 15mbs while my new laptop only got 8, and we only pay for 10, lol.
How the hell do you get all 15 threads of IDM to download….whenever I check this option id does not work, the most I get is 8 connections for a single download
Anyway that is a very fast speed compared to mine (around 120/80kbps)
Guys I Am Totally Happy With My ISP It Give Me Quite Good Browsing Speed And My Download Speed Is Awesome At A Very Low Cost I Just Have To Pay 275 INR($5.94) Per Month With Unlimited Upload And Download.

Wow you are really confused, 4Mb IS almost 450KB lol its the SAME THING. Just like 12 inches is the same as 1 foot there is no trickery going on!

You’re the one that’s confused? I was differentiating MB and Mb. Although it didn’t explain why he was getting such a large speedboost from IDM, I thought that he’d like to know what speeds he SHOULD be getting. You’d be surprised how many people think MB is Mb and vice versa.
Why did we bump a one-month old thread?
Answer #35
man it happens some time in bsnl.there is a problem in it.but it nearly happens in 2 to 3 months but only once.
