[SOLVED]Huawei Blaze U8510-1

August 7th, 2016

Just bought this phone and want to put my own music for message notification and alarm. Googled and found this.
To use custom ringtones for your phone ringtone, your alarm or your text message notification, simply copy an MP3 file to one of the following folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
If they don’t already exist, then create a new folder. How do you do this?
The file will then show up when you want to change your ringtones.
For Ringtones go to Settings – Sound – Phone ringtone
For Text Messages go to – Settings – Sound – Notification ringtone
For Alarm, set the sound when you add a new alarm.
Then found something like ringdroid, didn’t work, does anyone know an easy way of doing it, or is it to much hassle not very technical minded.
Thanks

Have you tried connecting it to your computer and creating them with the browser ?

thats the way, use your computer to browse it like a flash drive or use a file explorer with root access. Obviously you will need root on the phone though. Another easy way to do this is to use an older version of Google music app. it has a brown icon , the orange icon is the newest. while playing any mp3 on the old music app you can select “use as” and choose ringtone or messaging. Why they took it out of the newest version I dont know. if you get stuck let one of us know
thanks
