[SOLVED]How doI find the code?

I got an .exe file for a friend. He’s a very good friend of mine but I’m not sure if I should open it. Is there any way I can check the code behind the exe before opening? It could just be a prank or some serious ~love~! Can someone help?

normally, what i’ll do.. i will take the .exe file into my linux box and i’ll do:
strings filename.exe
maybe this could help?
sometimes it works for me.. sometimes its not..
u may also open that .exe files using ultraedit or reshack.. – not sure bout this.

How big is it?
If it’s not huge, upload it to one of the online virus checkers.
Anyway – If in real doubt, delete it.

it’s about 3mb. Not big but I doubt any AV softwares will detect any virus. It was created by my mate. they might not be having any info on the file
