Were you dual-booting with Windows? Were you using the Windows boot manager?
Answer #4
yes i am dual booting with Windows i dont remember about Windows boot manager
Answer #5
Well if RedHat is on a different partition than Windows, then formatting the one with Linux should do the job…
I have never dual-booted tbh so i wouldn’t be sure
Answer #6
I think linux HAS to be on a different partition, it uses totally different filing systems. (ext2??? whats newer? HpFS??)
Boot up to Hirens boot cd and run partition manager – just reformat that partition to ntfs.
Answer #7
if your using Vista then just use the built in partitioneditor to delete the Linux partition and then format the empty free space to NTFS unless your planning on installing another LINUX distro.
If not then after all this boot up your PC with the Vista CD –> Goto repair my computer –> Command prompt –> Type in bootrec /mbr
That’ll fix it!

if u are using windows xp and dual boot with redhat u have grub boot loader configured ..to remove it ..use some of bootable cd’s with partition magic inside and format linux partition on ntfs (if u are not planing to put another linux distro) then boot windows xp and go to repair console and write “mbr fix” or “fix mbr” or “fixmbr” (dont remember for sure), and then reboot and eject win cd ..this is it
