[Solved]CD or DVD?

August 5th, 2016

If I were to burn a PS2 game onto a disc, would it have to be a DVD-R everytime? Sorry if this sounds really stupid lol
Thanks to anyone who replies

No, they don’t have to be DVD-Rs. There are games that are split to several disks which you can burn on a CD-R. It depends on the size of the game. Good luck mate^^

Ok cheers still wouldn’t mind some other peoples comments

It depends on the game’s size. If a game is very small and it fits on a CD-R, so burn it on it
If a game is bigger than 700MB i would prefer always to burn on DVD-R’s. You don’t exactly know whether it works on splitted discs.
DVD burners and blank disc’s aren’t that expensive anymore – they’re cheap as hell
Btw: don’t forget to use blank disc’s of better quality otherwise you’re busting your drive.

it wont work on CD-R i dont know wat ur talking about. It wont work on a normal dvd either. You need a “swat magic” replacement which will allow you to use DVD Roms (DVD-R/DVD-RW supports DVD Roms due to updated technology) as a burned image.

Oh I beg to differ. If he has a Mod Chip installed he’s able to download games (for the sake of the example let’s say he downloaded a 2CD game, both CDs are .iso files). If he wants to he can burn the two ISO files using Nero or a similar program onto 2 CDs (of course he would need to burn them as image files and not as Data files). Then using these CDs he can play the game on his PS2. Swapmagic is not a requirement for playing burnt games on a PS2.
