[SOLVED] Using WIFI internet without PC & Modem.. Possib

So basically i got myself an android & it sucks with 2G.
Now (to make my point simple), i’m straightly asking
i do not have a PC or lappy or a modem.
So can i use a wifi router to access internet on my phone, by just connecting power and the Telephone line to the wifi router?

Nope…A router needs to get the connection from a Modem…Unless if you have a combined Router/Modem..

the thing is that u will eventually need to configure ur modem cum router using a lappy or a PC
once configured and up and running,ur wifi will keep working even if u disconnect the PC or lappy or in ur case which u might have to borrow for a few hrs to configure ur modem to always “on” connection

i googled some more, and i guess what i am searching for is the ADSL router..
it seems to run without the pc and modem..

All WiFi does is take an internet connection, and broadcast it wireless.
You need to have the internet connection first =/
You can use your WiFi with out internet to share files and such, but you cant access the internet unless you plug it into the router. If your router has a telephone jack in the back, its probably a router/modem. But just plugging the telephone line is will not get you internet service, unless you have established service at that location.

i have internet connection, lol
i’m currently using a pc with usual ADSL Modem.
I want to get a router to keep it in another room, where i just have the telephone line port, no pc..
so now it should work right?

Yes, get yourself either a wireless router on it’s own, or a modem/router (which will make your old modem redundant)

Yes, you only need a PC or laptop plugged into it to set up your account and security etc.
After that it will be quite happy to serve you on wireless..
