[Solved] Paypal tempory hold?

February 19th, 2014

How long does it take to clear? I just want to confirm i’m going to get my money back BEFORE i buy something else.
Answer #1
won’t take longer than a week, but for what reason is it in hold ?
Answer #2
Not sure why it’s on hold. He said he refunded me and that’s all I know
Is he trying to scam me or what?
Answer #3
send them msg asking why or if you need some proof to provide.
it happened to me just about a week ago, was on holiday in eastern europe and tried to make some payment through paypal and they put it on hold and limited my account, when i was back in uk i have to send proof of ids and stuff to clear it out, i was pissed but liked it. took about 10days though

Tired? replied: Not sure why it's on hold. He said he refunded me and that's all I know

i guess your account is limited
Answer #5
What!? My account doesn’t say anything about being limited and i’m verifyed if that helps.
Who do I have to send proof to? I didn’t know it was this much hassle to get a bloody refund!
EDIT: When I look on my Paypal and look at the transaction, it says
PayPal has placed a temporary hold while we’re reviewing it. We’ll contact you shortly with further information.
EDIT 2: The seller has refunded this payment in full. Go to the transaction details to see the payment method that was refunded.
I’m confused.

Paypal done this tooo me also long back

I am assuming that you fund your Paypal a/c from your bank account ?
This is more than likely the scenario,
1. You bought something using paypal eg. on E-bay. Paypal cough up the cash straight away and wait for the funds to get from your bank a/c – can take up to 5 working days.
2. Within that 5 working days, you have returned the item you bought and been issued a refund.
3. Paypal freeze the refund until they actually receive the original sum from your bank.
They should release the hold as soon as your payment to them has cleared

Thanks for that gilly. I’ll wait
Answer #9
No probs – it has happened to me a few times
If you ever need to ring Paypal or E-bay in the UK (same company), use this number as it’s not 0845
020 8605 3000
I feel sorry for some people that sell on E-bay, it has happened to a few friends of mine, that when they do not receive feedback on a sale Paypal freezes the money for at least 21 days, sometimes only when you can prove the person received the item…
(Google “Paypal fraud”)
Answer #10
Thanks man, i’ll keep a note of that number just incase :p
Um, so do I need to leave the seller feedback? I haven’t yet..
Answer #11
Always polite to leave feedback – even to say there was a prompt refund.
Answer #12
I was going to, I just held off until I got my refund
Done it now
Answer #13
Hi,
I’ve had quite a few e.Bay purchases end up stuffed and I’ve always got a full refund from PayPal.
All you have to do is be patient and your payment will end up in your bank account, or in reverse of whichever way, the payment was originally made.

Just a quick update to tell you the refund is in my paypal now, just need to transfer it to my bank which is 2-3 working days.
I need to be a more patience next time :p
Thanks to all who helped.
Answer #15
Why bother transferring it to your bank …
just SPEND it
I’m glad it sorted itself out.
