[SOLVED] Need help with Windows 8.1 update 1 (April 2014)

August 19th, 2021

Today I did a clean install of windows 8.1 update 1. I used the link found here: http://www.google.com?t=19068696&highlight= I have always used my mouse with my laptop. I have previously used windows 8.1, so I am familiar with most of the features, however I am currently having some problems…
Issue 1:
Before i was able to have a group of tiles named, but i no longer see this option, and the charm bar at the bottom of desktop does not appear anymore.
Issue 2: When ever i install new application, it shows at the bottom how many are installed example “58 new apps installed”. Is their a way to remove this message from appearing, as it is really annoying. Here is the screenshot of my current desktop:

thanks for that link.
I just hope their is a fix or a registry hack that can bring those old features back!! I am so used to them since windows 8 and 8.1…..and now with the new update 1, removing these features it is a little frustrating!
EDIT: I managed to figure out the issue 2. Simply clicking on newly installed app that has not been open, removes that message.

Issue 1:
Right click on the metro background and the option to name groups will appear. Don’t have any of the tiles highlighted.
Don’t forget they have put an extra delay in the charms bar so you might try hovering a bit longer to try and make it appear.

Thanks this solved the problem. It is a bit strange that you would click on a empty space, but that is Microsoft for you, always changing things!!
