[SOLVED] JDownloader Reconnect

January 21st, 2020

Ive had jdownloader for a little while now and only just discovered after reading an article after a recent update that there is a reconnect feature that resets your router or modem instead of you physically turning it off then back on which resets your ip adress and therefor allows you to avoid the rapidshare download limit. My setup is:

Internet - Siemens 4200 modem - NETGEAR WGR614 v9 - Office PC
                                                  - My PC

IP Adresses

Modem: 10.0.0.138
Router: 192.168.1.1

My question is where do i start with trying to use the reconnect feature on jdowloader? it had both the modem and router listed but what ever i try i cant get it to reconnect it just fails every time. Any help is much appreciated. Oh and there are 4 reconnection types:

LiveHeader/Curl
External
Batch
CLR Script

Which one of theses do i use for starters, im no major programmer i dont know alot at all about patch programming and never heard of CLR script. I will praise anyone who can help me out. thanks alot in advance.

Some ISP uses static IP’s. That tric don’t work if you have static IP
Answer #2
yeah its dynamic ip because when ever i reset the modem i get a new ip, usually the same one but it is a new ip. (besides the fact that i dont even know how to set a static ip)
Answer #3
Well if you get the same ip, then it may be static or just a lazy dynamic (like mine)….I have to disconnect for a long period to normally get a different ip…So not a lot of use with rapidshare these days..May as well just wait the 15 minutes..
Sorry don’t know about jDownloader…ain’t used it..I use Rapidshare Auto Downloader where you can queue the files up and it does the waiting for you..
Anyone know if jDownloader has any advantages with static or slow ips ?

Yeah, some good tutorial would be nice. I have searched on youtube for some tutorials, but they are always about the “old” program and they are not very clear

Well you can still queue downloads if you have a static ip, it will just wait 15 mins between downloads.
As for slow ips, I guess you mean you have to reconnect several times to get a new ip. If that’s the case you can set JDownloader to reconnect until the IP adress changes or you can download again, whichever happens first.
And for reconnection thingy you can first try LiveHeader/Curl and then you can move onto external if you have no luck with it. Go to Configuration>>Reconnection. Select LiveHeader/Curl under Reconnection Method.
Enter router’s IP to Router’s IP.
Press Create Reconnection Script.
Press Start and reconnect using the available reconnect button.
If the reconnection is successful JDownloader will ask you to save it, do so.
Enable Automatic Reconnection on the main screen.
You should be good to go.
If you still have problems we can try to use a bat file.

when i reset my modem, im not sure if i get the same one every time but it is definitely dynamic i can avoid the 15 minute wait, i have tried using the router and modem models (as they are both listed) and ip’s of them both, ill try again with the LiveHeader/Curl and see what happens. Keep opinions coming all are helpful. Edit: I have also been googling and searching on youtube with no luck, its kind of unique for each person which makes it really hard.

Download cURL frome above link and make a bat file with the following script ( Replace admin:PW with ur username password)
save the bat file in the same folder where u want to extract curl.exe and run it & check for ip if it worked then add
the bat file in JD……
http://curl.haxx.se/download.html
curl "http://admin:PW@192.168.1.1/st_poe.cgi" -d "ConMethod=Disconnect"
curl "http://admin:PW@192.168.1.1/st_poe.cgi" -d "ConMethod=++Connect++"

Check IP Here

If not I can help you set a reconnection script with a bat file.

hey guys thanks for replies, i knew that it was the modem that you reset because i did it manually for a wile ages ago so i got the modem ip and typed it in along with the username and pass, and clicked create reconnection script, it brought up the home page of my modem and i searched around for a bit and found a reconnect menu option. I clicked it and it took 45 seconds and did a remote manual reconnect and then JDownloader says SUCCESSFUL so i just click save and it wrote and saved the script and now it works cutting the time between downloads from about 16 and 1/2 minutes to about 2 and 1/2. Thanks for all suggestions they have all been helpful but i can finnally call this one SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!
