But when I burn it reguarly on a DVD, it won’t come up as a boot option, now I’ve formatted many times and I know how to set my bios up so to boot from cd-rom.
But why won’t this boot, here are the files I burnt;
Can someone explain in a few simple steps how to burn this to be bootable, or explain what I’m doing wrong.
Thanks heaps.
here checlk out my guide below, all explained
I’ve seen this before…People associate the ISO extension with winrar and they think it’s a rar file and they extract it…It’s no good burning those files…The cd won’t be bootable…You need to burn the ISO as image:
But there is no iso…
If you look at my above post… there is no ISO to burn..
create an iso with magic iso then. Just open up magiso, select the files then hit the save button. You can do it in power iso
I’ll give it a shot & get back to you all.
Cheers.
Just creating an ISO doesn’t make it bootable…
Then explain , if you had those files, how would i make it into a bootable dvd.
Please.. explain.
vlite can make a vista bootable iso…
I have the files.. so your telling me with vlite, it will make/burn my files into a bootable dvd?
cheers.
No…you use vlite…you browse for the files and vilite will create a bootable iso for you…I can give you a small tutorial how to burn the iso if you want…
Another way is to get an empty bootable vista iso..open it with ultraiso…and drag your files and folders to it and save…I can supply you with the empty iso if you prefer doing it that way…
i once made a mistake like this
i downloded .iso and extracted to folder
if u had .iso b4 u shouldve burn with imgburn for example
did u extracted from .iso?
No I didn’t get an iso, I got a rar file and extracted to a folder which left me with just files and a setup.exe, , ill download vlite and give it a shot, if you would like to upload and share that iso that would be great.
Cheers.
If you used one of the latest copies of winrar the little icon has been changed from the books in a vise to something that looks very simular to an .iso file icon. That could be the mistake you are making…..just a thought.
Whoops…duh…must be old age setting in, this has been mentioned already…sorry.
I know… my way around iso’s… im not an amatuer to them, but making an iso from scratch is what I need help for. Trying ‘s suggestion. Will update soon enough
