soluion to”The disk is write-protected”(USBSTICK)

August 1st, 2016

alright… before i go and have this flash drive return to wherever i purchased this
does anybody have a solution to fix this error?
i just purchased this drive of fyrz electronics about 5 dayss ago
i haven’t really use it much just when i format it recently.. first
the filesystem of the drive is FAT32…
so i formated it again ..
then i decided to format it to NTFS.
then once again to FAT32…
then i had queued up a buncha avi movies ready to be transfered
just when after the first movie transfered… it went.
cannot find destination?????
i mean what da hell of a sudden the flash drive is not showing up under “my computer”
so i tried to format it again it says
“the disk is write-protected”
the brand is “CENTON 32GB “data stick PRo (greY)
i know i should have invested into a more reliable drive like “KINGSTON or cruzer but since it was on sale i had to pull the trigger and purchase
i have two options..
return it to the store *(without the receipt)
have replacement ask for RMA through CENTON manufacture…. it will take a week or so..
or FIX IT.. if its available…….. anyone know how??
thanks!
ive tried low level format.. i tried putting it in different usb still the same..
also IT DOESN’T NOT HAVE A SWITCH TO LOCK IT.. IVE CHECKED IT AND STARE AT IT FOR 1 HOUR AND I CAN’T SEEM TO FIND A SWITCH TO PROTEC IT NADA…

i swear i have seen this somewhere else before, but i cant remember…is there some sort of button/slider on the outside of the usb stick that prevents it from being written to?

Ive Reached to conclusion that i will just have it replaced.. dont bother…..some flash drives are lifetime warranty just call it claim for replacement.. rather than go to a waste.. or binning it…..
note: this is my 500 post mark lol…

I had the same problem with my 64gig Jetflash and FlashUSB Repair v2 9 1 1 worked for me.
