Softmodding troubles

Wii 4.2 Bought 2 years ago.
Currently:
Have installed HBC – nothing appears when open apart from bubbles and a flashing icon on the bottom right hand corner. – By right, I mean my right.
Have installed DivX
Have accessed bootmii
– Prepared SD card. – Successful
– Boot 2 – Successful
– Boot ISO – Successful
On SD card:
– cIOS36-64-v1042-rev6.wad
– (dir) cIOS38_rev14-Installer
– boot.dol
Problem:
How do I install the cios 38 rev 14?
– A few tutorials mentioned that I need the cIOS36-64-v1042-rev6.wad file but i don’t know what to do with it.
– I also have Neogamma r7, but I don’t know what to do with it.
I would be most grateful to anyone that has experience in this area to help me.
Will download any recommended files.
Please keep any reply’s as simple as possible as I’m new to this and am not too great with the terminology.

I persevered and found http://gwht.wikidot.com/ which took me through the process step by step. So for anyone else in the same boat as I was I highly recommend it.
