Slow connecting
October 22nd, 2013
1- It takes forever to log in because there are a lot of people trying to access the website. There are times when it takes a long time for a link to open and it can happen for the same reason. This has happened to me in the past. Sometimes there is a problem with the server.
2- There are 2 factors in regards to slow downloads: Slow Internet speed or download services. You get slow downloads from download services because you don’t have an account so you get a limited download speed. That is the case with services such as Rapidshare, Filesonic and Hotfile. I even get slow downloads with Megaupload and Fileserve which used to have good download speeds in the past.
Gateways errors because coolyou and pc need to buy new machine.
Deadonebro ….. ed2010 pretty much said it all, there are alot of people on this forum now and I suspect looking at the “users on line” on the bottom of the login page (5416 when I looked) that this is a “load balancing” issue. It could also be that they may be experierencing a DOS (denial of service) attack, but unlikely, in any case you will see a “High ServerLoad Detected” message on the top left of the screen from time to time, confirming that the board’s server is under strain.
In relation to slow downloads there are a few things you could try:-
1) Have you checked your broadband connection speed? ….. http://speedtester.bt.com/
That will advise you of your connection speed.
2) Clear your internet explorer cache.
3) Ensure you have nothing else on your running on your system, which could be using up your bandwidth …. “Automatic Updates” or the like.
