Connecting to my work PC

teamviewer
Teamviewer is fantastic at what it does, But I honestly don’t think it’d be the right
choice for this particular situation. The main purpose of Teamviewer is for 2 or more people
to interact with each other on a single computer, Which can be very useful if you wanna help
someone remotely with their problems, Or a show a remote presentation. But the downside to
Teamviewer is that it’s all visible (As in, If you were controlling your work PC from home, And the monitor was turned on, Pretty much any colleague passing by could see exactly what you’re doing!)
So it’s simply not ideal for that. You’d be better off using the Windows built-in Remote Desktop app for this task (Then all they’d see is a login screen saying X user is logged in, Nothing else!) If you ask me, It’s important to maintain a decent level of privacy when working remotely.
Thanks I’ll give it a try
If they wanted you to be able to connect remotely they would have setup a SSTP VPN or RDGateway.
It sounds like you are asking to be fired, don’t do something stupid and give up a job in this economy!
You may have a point there
I haven’t really thought of it before, But it is a little odd for an employee to set up
remote access by himself. This should be the IT admin’s job.
