Slim PS3 Question

After not having a PS3 for about two years because of the YLOD I’m looking to finally buy a replacement. Apparently 3.55 CFW is the ideal method to play backups on the phat model. Can 3.55 CFW on the slim model function in the same way as it would on the phat (or is there some sort of hardware revision which prevents 3.55 CFW from playing backups on the slim). Thanks

They are using newer custom firmwares patched with 3.55 keys. Your first objective is to find a console that can be modified.
