Need help with slim PSP modding

August 5th, 2016

Well I need help…I am attempting to modify my psp, using the Pandora battery.
The problem I am having is with making the MMS(Magic Memory Stick).
I can never add the Update.php to my psp’s memory stick. My PSP would always enter a “Please wait…” stage and It would give me a message saying that either:
“Error adding Update.pbp Maybe Disk Write Full”
Or I don’t even get a message at all….
Specs:
My firmware is 3.95
It is the Piano Black PSP Slim
My MS is a Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo
2gb
Magic Gate
Any help would be appreciated.

Problem #1
Are you on official firmware? You cannot create a Pandora’s battery on OFW.
If you already have a Pandora’s battery, you’re good
Problem #2
Is the memory stick your using “fake?” If it is not MagicGate compatible, then it is a fake.
Problem #3
Do you even have enough room on your memorystick? Is it formatted correctly?
Problem #4
PSP’s don’t use PHP files, they use PBP files, I think you mean to call it update.pbp
Answer #2
most likely you have official firmware. so you either buy a pandora batery or make one your self. google how to make a pandora battery and it will give you a guide on how to open you psp battery, what to break off, then it should work like a pandora battery.
Answer #3
1. Yes I am on OFFICIAL Firmware.
I already have a Pandora Battery
2. My MS is not “fake” when I went to Information it said mine was supported(I had bought this MS from Best Buy)
3. I do have enough room on my MS
4. I did mean update.pbp
I still don’t know what is going wrong.
I decided to work after this guide here:

Answer #4
My only advice is to start from scratch, on a freshly formatted memory stick.
Answer #5
I will try that and see how that works. I will edit this message after I am done and I hope you will reply to whatever I have to say.
Thanks for the help so far(even though you may not think that you helped).
EDIT: I have gotten all the way to the point when I need to just use the pandora battery and the MMS together.
I turn off my psp, take out the plug(for power) and then take out everything.
I put in my MMS, then I hold the Left Trigger(I read that I needed to do that so that the screen would stop being blank), and put in the Pandora Battery.
The power is automatically turned on, but the red/orange light does not blink, not even once.
I need help….I don’t know what to do…
Answer #6
it’s still your memory stick, try again.
Answer #7
I have done this over and over again yet this still does not work.
My MS is real(it says supported and I even bought it from Best Buy).
As you would have guessed I continue to get the error code(80020148). But I have remembered that is because I don’t even have custom firmware yet.
But still!
After all these times I have done this guide or another guide, nothing has seemed to work for me.
Maybe there is a guide that is specifically for PSPs with OFW above 3.90 or something, I think that would help alot….but I guess I better start looking.
