show hidden files and folder option missing
August 5th, 2016
Click the Start Orb -> go to the Run Dialog
On the Run Dialog -> type Regedit
On Regedit go to these values
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden
Look for a key named Type (without the quotes) on the right-hand side, change the value to group (without the quotes)as shown above. If the key Type, is missing then create a new String value. Name it Type (without the quotes), set its value to group (without the quotes). and that should do it. Presto Youre done.
this is exactly how it looks
Hello, im having a problem, i was looking for some files that were under some hidden folders and when i go to show the hidden folders, the option to show them is not there.
So your saying when you go to Folder Options you don’t see this dialogue?
Try doing a system restore to a time this wasn’t an issue.

Well, I don’t know what you have done (or Dell has done) to disable that. Maybe its disabled in group policy. But you can use the above post (I edited it) and go to the last link, there is reg files to hide them again if you need.

Use Malwarebytes to help you remove infections.

And use ESET to prevent them, make sure you get ESET Smart Security (unless you already have a very good firewall) and not just Nod32, as that is just the anti-virus componet.
