Server Software ?

im running a cod 4 server and i need a redirect on it to download custom mods etc,
is there any software out there to upload to my pc so people can download the mods from my pc, using a server software to host them on then i can just redirect my ip address to my server
why not use a simple ftp server? plenty of those about, or stick it on a dropbox account and share that
