Sb Live 24 bit WIN7 64bit

August 5th, 2013

Well Google hasn’t given much of an answer, except to update my drivers to recent version. (I have.) That and Creative’s cards run like crud on WIN7 unless you have the X-FI series even then you still get issues. The drivers I am using “SB24_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0090”, which is the most recent driver for my card. My card is a SB Live 24bit, the box it came in states it as a SB Audigy Live L(?) 24bit. My sound setup Altec Lansing ACS54 4.1.
My issue is intermittently based on boots I will lose sound from my left rear, but not my right rear, when I reboot I get sound back from my rear left. Or when I disable the device in manager and re-enable it. So my question is am I hosed or is there a set of drivers I could use like the kxproject, I’m not sure if my board is compatible they don’t have a very cohesive list on accepted cards. Oh and F.Y.I, I have used older drivers for this card and it did it on all of them so it leads me to believe, this is a 7 driver issue.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Answer #1
there is no SB Audigy Live
it’s either SB Audigy Value
or SB Live
is there a Model Number on the card like CT#### or SB####

Have you tried using the Creative auto-update tool on the website ?
info – just ignore that the article relates to the Zen

The problem with a lot of Creative stuff that is EOL is that the drivers revert to generic ones, and are not updated.

Its an SB Audigy Value, Windows see’s it as SB Live 24bit. Either way both use the same drivers. I’ll see what the autoupdate will do. I’ll also check Model# as well.
Answer #4
try these
SB24_VTDRV_LB_1_04_0077.exe

released for vista but they should work on 7
Answer #5
that audigy value is what 7-9 year old? toss it, buy a cheap working sound card.
you will continue to have nothing but troubles in the future. it no longer
is supported. they put out the last driver for the card many years ago

I see what you mean by the cards age. I just cant seem to justify getting rid of a card because of driver issues. I am going to try and use the kxproject drivers and see what I get. But if I am going for a new card it will be a used XFI Titanium or an Auzentech equivelent. Until then I will make due. Oh I used to use those older drivers because they still allowed me to use What U Hear. I think it happened with them as well dunno we will see. Thank you for your help guys.
