SATA II installation

Hi,
I just recently bought a hitachi deskstar 500gb SATA II.
I installed it successfully and the new HDD is recognized in my bios
On the desktop it recognized the new hardware and said it was installed successfully.
But when i go to my computer all I see is my other original SATA HDD and my new one is not there.
How can i fix this?
My motherboard is an ECS GeForce6100PM-M2

Administrative Tools>Computer management>Disk management…If listed…Right click and assign a drive letter…

Hi, thanks but the new HDD is not listed. Just my old partitioned C: and D:

First of all go to device manager and see if it installed sucsesfully ( right click my computer – manage – device manager )
If it is than go computer management – right click i disk management and chose rescan and then see if listed new hdd with unpartition space then right click in unpartition space and chose new partition and just follow the steps in wizard.
If its not installed right you see in device manager a yellow question mark then you need to download the right drivers and to update it.
but if its installed than just follow the steeps

Hi, Updated drivers and went back to desk management and now formatting . Thanks for your help
