Running Commentary in Movie
January 21st, 2020
I want to write this movie on dvd to play on the dvd player, because the subtitles match properly only with this version.
What do I have do to remove the commentary while playing it on the dvd player.
does the movie have 2 audio tracks, one with the commentary and one without.
if so then does your dvd player come with an audio button with which you can switch between the two ?
The audio track infomation is 58000Hz stereo, MP3 15958 bytes/s
Yes, the dvd player remove has a audio button which can switch between the two
The movie name is Tengoku To Jigoku (High and Low) – Criterion Collection.
I’ve a movie called The_Passion_of_ Darkly_Noon_(1995).avi
It has the movie track and the directors commentary track.
When I open it using VLC media player I get the following options:
Which shows the file has two tracks.
Are you sure your file has two tracks ?
If it does have 2, are the subtitles hard coded to both tracks ?
BTW is your dvd player a divx compatible one ? Though methinks it is not since you would have already burn a dvdrw to test things out.
Mine does divx and thus I know nothing about converting an avi to be ‘normal’ dvd compatible
Sorry for the late reply, had guests.
I played the movie in vlc player, which showed that it has only track 1.
I am using a srt file.
The DVD player is divx compatible.
I haven’t tested it out still. I don’t want to take that risk.
Still waiting for a solution.
noproblemo.
one track, and that track is audio commentary, think that means you don’t have the movie track.
srt file means the subtitles aren’t hardcoded into the avi, but this won’t be a ‘problem’ cos your player might just handle them.
my divx dvd player takes dvd-rw disks which I’ve reused 100s times, and handles srt files too, so a trial burn, before the dvdr one, seems like a good idea, your player ain’t gonna explode (fingers-crossed)
That’s the funny thing with this movie.
When I play this movie with Windows Media Player, Meida Player Classic, Real Player, Zoom Player, I can hear the commentary with the dailogues in the background, but whle playing this with VLC Media Player, the commentary vanishes and I can hear the dialogues clearly.
Can I anyone explain this?
I took the risk of burning this movie on a dvd and played it.
Yes, it is a two track DVD.
Thanks for your help.
