Removing Watermark from Screener?

August 7th, 2016

A friend of mine has a DVD screener, but we are both in way over our heads as far as how to properly rip it and make sure that it cannot be traced to him. Is it easy? Would it be better to rip an .iso and get it to a scene group? How would one going about doing that if so?

I know how to rip a movie. And yes, people do remove the watermark, since it has identifying information as to who the screener was issued to.

By any chance, is the movie 127 hours? We saw the post on /g/. http://boards.4chan.org/g/res/14456158
You should find a way to rip it to ISO and make sure that a scene group gets it and them alone. Contact one as soon as you can so they can help you out.

I suggest to anybody reading this thread to let the scene groups know there is a 127 Hours screener in the wild because they will all clamor to get their hands on it.

The thing is, will you trust someone you don’t know with something which can be traced back to you?
Hiding identifying info is very easy, there are around billions (UK) of pixels in that video and any of them could be used to mark it. Audio could be used also and it would need to be detected and removed to prevent the people who gave you it from tracing it to you.
How successful have the scene been at removing Cinavia marking? Not very IMO.
