Removing Virus

January 25th, 2020

I work for a centre and the computers there are infected with virus so I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and run a full system scan and it came up with 7 infected files, so I clicked on Remove Selected and reboot my PC and then I rescan it again just to make sure the virus is deleted but it still says 7 infected files, so I thought I will use another spyware tool to remove the virus SuperAntiSpyware ran a full scan with SuperAntiSpyware and infected files came up so I removed it and restarted and ran a full scan Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and it still says 7 infected files, so how can I permantly remove the infected files?

The centre uses Sophos AV, scanned it but didn’t detect the virus
Answer #3
Maybe that’s a bad AV. You should really run another one.

The goverments only allow Sophos to be use in the centre[/code]
Answer #5
Oh, ok! Maybe you can try combofix.
Answer #6
malwarebytes and superantispyware are malware related programs, and although they detected them you should use a anti virus software that will get rid of the infected files. now i know you said that your company uses sophos anti virus, but its not even detecting the infected files, so there are definately better anti virus programs to try like avira, avast, nod32, bitdefender, but its up to you to try them. and out of curiousity what is the virus that you have on your systems??
Answer #7
Reboot into safe mode and:
1 – Command Prompt and type – “msconfig” (remove everything you think is suspicious)
2 – Run the tools you used under safe mode.
3 – Use a free AV (that might solve the problem)

I would run the computers through a assortment of free online AV scanners a see what they come up with?
It beats installing different varieties of softwares on the computers.
These are the most popular free AV free online scanners too date.
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html
http://www.eset.com/online-scanner
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html
I would run the computers through at least three of the sites that I have suggested, run the scans an they will identify an remove said infections.
Plus it would be a good idea too identify said infection or infections an google it or them too see what you are dealing with.
There might be special tools for removal available for these infectious files online.
Answer #9
Like said malwarebytes is for malware.
I’d suggest getting standalone virus scanners so you don’t need to install anything.
