Razer Deathadder problem

October 30th, 2013

Hey guys,
i was wondering if anyone can help me with a small problem i got..
i just bought a new mouse, a razer deathadder, and i can’t figure out how to programm the middle button (the scrolling wheel) to open a link in a new tab with chrome, it used to work with my old mouse, but not with this one..
found nothing on google..
so if anyone can help, i’d appreciate it

Answer #1
That’s a browser keybind, not your mouse. If your middle click on mouse is programmed to middle click, then it should work.
Answer #2
If your middle click doesn’t work anywhere then RMA the mouse. Razer isn’t exactly known for their quality control.
Answer #3
well it clicks, but it works just as left-click, it open the link in the current page, not in a new tab.
it was working perfectly fine with my old mouse and i didn’t change any of the browser settings..
well, it’s not a big deal anyway, the mouse works fine (and is great btw), it’s just that i got used to open a new tab like that^^
thanks for you help anyway

Did you install the software that came with the mouse?
I open new tabs and new links that way, plus close all tabs with middle mouse (no close button ftw).
There is a little program I use for cheap/crappy built games to add additional mouse functionality.
X-Mouse Button Control

i just tried with my old mouse and the middle click works fine.. beats me :p
Answer #6
Button 3 should be set to universal scrolling.
Answer #7
universal scrolling doesn’t do anything.
Answer #8
The default value is universal scrolling. If it’s set to that and it still doesn’t work then you should RMA the mouse and get a replacement.
Answer #9
Ok will do, thanks for your help
