Rage (game)

I have googled this problem, tried everything and still can’t get rage to work. The first time I downloaded it I installed the patches and updates and it worked great. I have an intel system with nvidia video card. I have the newest beta driver for nvidia. Whenever I try to start the game it looks like something is trying to load then stops. I don’t see anything on the screen but an hourglass. I have windows 7 64 bit. When the game worked before it was very smooth and ran great. I hope someone can help me.

change compatibility mode to windows 98/me..
n run as administrator..
see whether it works!!

So it worked once, but then not again.
What has changed between the first (working) time , and the rest (not working) times??

nothing. i figured id software automatically updated the game and is using some sort of anti piracy program.

This happened to me the other day with Civilization V. I uninstalled and reinstalled and for some crazy idea it now works flawlessy.
It may sound bizarre but have you tried doing that?
Did you download RAGE then apply crack? If so which one?

Yes I ran it on a pc that had internet online at the time. And I downloaded the version from user “iamawesome” with all the cracks and updates. it didn’t even need to be “installed” just unzipped to a folder and ran rage.exe and it worked.

Maybe the being online caused that. I have similar problem but i am not sure if being online had something to do with it. Cod MW2 stopped working (cant write file no more) and Dead Island black box rip also stopped working. Very weird.

U r mentionin abt steam preload files..
U tried to play multiplayer?
If u still have the source files..
Delete the game files n reg(If its available)
then extract the game files again.. (this time different path)..
place crack n play..

Seems to be steam problem yeah.. I guess.. But i never tried playing multiplayer.

Did you insert any commands into the .exe shortcut? The game seems reluctant to start occasionally. I ended the process in Windows Task Manager & restart the game.
