Ps3 40gb-80gb same?

August 5th, 2016

Hey guys, just a quick and simple question:
is the 40gb ps3 same as the 80gb?
Europe version except on hdd space
The only difference I know is as mentioned the hdd space and earlier release date. Any other differences?
As i’m a bit googling about this, i’m reading something about graphic and chip differences? are there any graphic differences?

nah mate 40 and 80 gb versions were made the same thing, only difference is their hdd space. But 40gb and 80gb models are not in production anymore, only versions left are the 120gb and 250gb which are also the same except for hdd differences

Wrong , hardware differences in manufacturing sizes. Either single 65Nm or dual 65Nm, this is hard to say since there are 2 models of 80GB which are made at different time intervals.
This is referring to CPU and GPU dies.

we: Select all

nope go for 60 there the best :mrredhat: That’s not realistic these days. 60GB models are becoming scarce and only second hand market has them.

why not go for a slim?
Answer #8

we: Select all

why not go for a slim?
Why not:
The slim has only the following features compared with Fat version(And maybe more):

    Slim size
    more economical
‘HD’ Audio when using a high definition audio system
    Less quiet
Just a little faster starting games

It doesn’t have any much benefit.
The looks of the Slim are HORRIBLE The ps3 doesn’t have his special look anymore. Compared with my situation it doesn’t benefit for me.
And I would buy a secondhand machine
