program alternatives. which is best for splitting, merging videos ?

I don’t want anything professional, which costs a lot of time, system performance.
Need just simply split video into more parts.
And join videos to one.
Maybe with other parameters. Is necessary to encode whole parts into one same quality level ? I need, to just force it, to glue together. But for now, I need just for simple split, without doing anything to video.

Not sure if this is what you are referring to, I used Vdub. It always worked really well for me. But you may be referring to something entirely different than what I am reading here.

For splitting you could try SolveigMM Video Splitter (also joins) ……. There’s lots of video splitters around and most are much of a muchness.
