Printer Problem!

February 3rd, 2020

Hi, I’ve got an EPSON STYLUS PHOTO RX425 printer. All of a sudden when I went to print a page it flashed up with ”out of ink” message. I found this strange as I had not long replaced the cartridges!
So I took the cartridges out to see how low they were. They must of been at least half full – all of them! Anyway, I decided to buy new ones to see if they would work. Brand new cartridges – same message! I have since reinstalled the software for the printer in-case there was some malfunction. This made no difference. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? PS. The ink I’m using isn’t actually EPSON ink but I had been using it for a long time previously and it had worked fine for about 18 months! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

what version are the epson drivers u got installed? Try downloading the latest one to see if that makes much of a difference.
Answer #2
Downloading some now. Thanks for your response, will let you know how I get on.

It’s a common problem with Epson’s. Did you replace the ink cartridges at any point when the printer was on? Try taking them out and putting them back in when the printer is off.
Answer #4
Not too sure about the printer in control panel, but with an old epson I had options for deep cleaning and nozzle cleaning.
Selecting these options has helped me in the past – also try printing a test page from the printer control panel

Downloaded some drivers, didn’t make any difference unfortunately. It's a common problem with Epson's. Did you replace the ink cartridges at any point when the printer was on? Try taking them out and putting them back in when the printer is off.
Don’t remember replacing them when the printer was on but not 100% sure.

I can’t do any cleaning operations as it says there is no ink – even though the ink cartridges are brand new!

Uninstall your printer completely from your system, download the latest driver updates and re-install.
Check your cartridges are connected properly, check for jamming in the paper-wheel.
Or contact the shop you bought it from and hope you paid for a guaranteed product.
