Now when I turn the laptop on it says

Enter bios, and find boot sequence to see if your hard drive is listed\
Back up disks from different manufacturers might do different things
Answer #4
Try resetting the bios to the default and see if that helps…

Try the Apps section..

Windows installations don’t disappear easily. Either the laptop is damaged or you deleted some important files.
Answer #9
How can i get it back?
Answer #10
The HDD may need to be reseated – i.e. take it out and put it right back in. The connectors might not be stable. Unscrew the pa on the back to get to the HDD.
Answer #11
The back up disk you burnt from your other computer may not be bootable (just a file image).
In your other computer, set it so that the DVD is the first boot device.
Then boot up, just to see if that disk is actually bootable.
If not, then you need to make a new Windows install disk from a Windows ISO by burning “Image to Disk” using Imgburn, Nero or similar.
Page through this site to find the OS you want..

I have used a file called “Windows7-USB-DVD-tool” not even sure where I got it(surely from here, prolly in some OS pkg). It can either put an ISO on a usb(I have done this) or burn to a dvd(I have not done this). Makes it bootable. Works perfect for me for any Windows ISO. I have heard good stuff about rufus too but never used that myself. Sounds like you either deleted something from your hd your os needs or the disk your trying to boot with is not bootable or both. Maybe hd died too. Not sure without having it in front of me to work on. Good luck!
Answer #13
Being HP it should have a full recovery option , these laptops have a hidden recovery partition so you can go back to original configuration .
Cant remember how to access it have a look on line , unless its not the original HD .

Here’s the link for the manual for all models sold under that production run. Look for the steps to take to either:
a) reset the operating system to default
b) arrange the boot cycle to look for your hard drive
c) look to ensure the hardware is being recognized by the motherboard
Hope it helps
