Installing windows without boot device

Hi, im hoping someone can help me with this. i have a fujitsu lifebook p1120. i hav eno cdrom, no floppy, i have just the hdd in the laptop. i have a xp cd. the only other thing i have that can help is another laptop with cdrom and windows on it.
i want to install xp on the lifebook, i have tried copying over i386, but i get ntldr is missing. i have tried putting the harddrive in the other computer then installing windows and putting back into the lifebook, boots to a blank screen, if to safe mode it will get stuck it mup.sys. i have thought about pxe but i have no idea how to do that. if someone can please i will greatly appreciate it. i will infact download a free file off you 10 times to get you some rapid points. you may IM me. thank you.

Do you know anyone else with a fujitsu lifebook p1120 that does have a CD-rom drive?

lol so you post this in the apps section. Thats were your goin wrong. One possibility could be to purchase a USB CDrom and boot from that.

Hi , the best way to you do it, is to copy whatever is inside the xp cd to a usb pen and in the boot you choose in the bios the usb pen.

narh narh – if you can boot from USB and you have a large enough USB pen then you will be all good…
First make the usb key bootable (can use HP USB Tool) then copy the i386 folder and all its contence to the usb key boot the computer from the key and when you get to the dos prompt type cd i386 so it looks like this A:\I386 i take A to be the drive letter of the usb key then type winnt.exe hit enter xp shod then start to install
