Playing 3D Half-SBS on LG HD TV

August 24th, 2013

I downloaded a 3D movie that was Half-SBS. The 3D looked good, however a message appeared on my screen that said, “Unsupported Audio” and playback halted.
The movie played fine on my PC with VLC.
I’m sure it maybe a codec issue. The TV’s manual says it supports AVI and MKV files. However, any ideas on how to get this to work?
Thanks!

Use Mediainfo to see what audio codec it uses.

You may need to run the movie through a converter which can keep the video the same but change the audio to AC3 or MP3.
Avidemux can do that…Set video to ‘copy’ and what format you would like for audio, and then ‘save’ it. It will then convert and save it to where you specify.

Depending on what you are using to play the file. I have the LG 42LD550 which plays movies via USB. But it will not play DTS audio. I get the same message when I try playing a movie with DTS audio via USB (unsupported audio).
