Just installed new OS, where did half my harddrive go?

August 4th, 2016

My hardrive, by default, has been split into two 250gb partitions. When i installed windows 7 i chose to delete the second partition (D in order to free up the space to make it clean, and formatted the other partition (C. Upon reboot my computer now says it only has one 250gb partition. whyyyy?
Answer #1
Did you check in Computer Management – Disk Management
Answer #2
because you have 250Gb of unpartioned space on your PC, you have to merge the partitions now, use Paragon Partition manager.
Answer #3
Ok I found it under Disk Management and its unallocated. I need a third party software to use it? and can i combine it with my c: or should i keep it two seperate 250s?
Answer #4
You should be able to right click the OS’s partition in Disk Management and extend it with the unallocated 250GB partition.
Answer #5
It depends.
You might want to have a partition to place your personal stuff and the other one (Windows) to install things and not be afraid to format if Windows/PC crashes.
It’s up to you

Yup, extending the volume fixed it, thanks guys =]
Answer #7
Having a single partition is not a good idea one bit,You should have
2 at least to store your data on,This way whenever
you need/want to reinstall the OS you just format the 1st partition [C:]
and your data remains intact,I strongly recommend you use acronis disk
director suite and split it.
