“Piracy-friendly” web hosts?

February 3rd, 2020

I’m looking to open a smallish website that links to pirated content on file sharing hosts (like this forum for example, but more niche / smaller and without a forum )
The files themselves would be hosted on websites like putlocker and billionuploads.
I’m wondering if there is any well known web hosting companies that won’t immediately remove my website at the first sign of trouble / the first letter they might receive (even though technically my website wouldn’t be violating copyright laws by hosting content itself)?
Does anybody run a similar site without trouble?

Linking to is subject to the takedown request you mention, and any host subject to legal action, will obey a takedown request, if they want to stay in business.
If you want to to this with out having a takedown request, you would need to host somewhere where these copyright laws are not in effect, like netherlands or china.

And good luck finding an offshore webhost that is cheap. I found a free one once but they were shut down due to inactivity.

You could do it yourself. If you never shut off your pc, or have a dedicated always-on machine, you can host your own site. LAMP (Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP), or Windows + AMP, or Windows + IMP (I = IIS). If it’s just for friends that is. It’d probably be pretty low chance if your friends are using it either way… If you’re trying to make a public site.. WBB and other sites already have it covered imo

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I ended up going with a host in the Netherlands after a quick chat before hand with the hosting owner ( linking allowed, hosting not – just what I needed).
The site will primarily be an online database of all my active upload links and whatnot, it will be forward facing but I’m not expecting much traffic. I could easily do the database offline but eh, if somebody does find it and thinks it’s useful, it’s there to use
