Overclocking Core 2 Duo

So basically i need help on Overclocking. I know it is in BIOS
But i do not know how much I can overclock
Intel� Core�2 Duo E6400
So basically i dont have a cooling system, but i can get a few fans and let the tower opened.
it is just 2.13 GHz, can i get atleast 2.4?

start by finding out what motherboard (mobo) you have
then google “overclock <mobo name>”
also check this site out

and everest ultimate is good for monitoring temps, which is your main concern while OC’ing

I have OC’d a E6300 from stock (1.83GHz) to 2.80 GHz on the stock fan. No problems with it whatsoever. High temps kinda but completely stable @ 1.392v

I would like to overclock too, but how warm can it get? My GPU is 60�C already (I bought it superclocked, like it was sold in the shop as a 8800GT Superclocked)

Overclocking is simple and from my experience safe. Let you know some motherboards don’t support overclocking some do, but really crappy.
Download Coretemp (program that lets you know the temperature of each core on your cpu.)

Go to your BOIS, you might see a multiplier x14 x15 x16 ect, leave that alone for now, around the multiplier should be an External clock, or FBS, you change that value, to change the MHz speed of your cpu, its going to be FSB x Multiplier = CPU speed. My case 200MHz x 14 = 2800MHz.
Change that FSB or external clock by 2’s or 1’s. then reboot your comp, keep doing this till you find a speed you like.
After you found your speed you need a stablity test, ORTHOS, PRIME95, OCCTPT, google them.
This should get you started, more advance guides out there for this.

Since your talking about GPU, google atitool. (Use it even if you have nvidia product) ATITool got a artifact tester, run the artifact test for 10mins and see what temps you have, before you overlock. After you have an idea of the temp you have start overclocking. Also ATITool will let you know when your GPU is too hot.
Also let you guys know, intel, amd, nvidia, ati, all will know when you overclock so don’t go crying to them if you broke something, do this at your own risk.
