is there any way in windows xp to force one type of connection or the other…for example if im connected with my wi-fi card or with my ethernet card, windows automatically picks the faster one and starts to use it even if its workin or not..is there anyway i can force windows to use the wi-fi or the ethernet…some software perhaps?
Answer #1
Disable the one you don’t want to use. Goto NetworkConnections and right-click > Disable the one you don’t want to use. You can Enable it again the same way you Disabled it.
Answer #2
yea thas logical except im tryin to use the wi-fi connection for something else like sharing my computer with other ppl and the other connection for internet..lol
Answer #3
Ahh so specifically, your trying to use your laptop as a wireless router?
Answer #4
not exactly, specifically i have internet that comes in from the wall, but the internet through the router for some reason is not workin (i am going to buy a new one eventually) but to share my printers and such things i need a router so i want to have the default internet connection be the ethernet but i wanna keep my other connection open as well but not use it for internet lol
