Need help deleting this virus

August 5th, 2016

Hello everyone! I sadly got a virus on my computer, it’s running as a java application. .
anyway, you can simply close the virus/spyware by stopping the process in the taskmanager, but I want to remove it from my computer as well. I started msconfig and when to the startup menu, here I found the virus, it’s hiding in:

C:\Users\\javalib.jar
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\JavaUpdater.jar

Anyway I tried to find these files at their locations, but they don’t seem to be there, and i went into folder options and clicked:
Show hidden files, folder, and drives
[unchecked]Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)

Anyway I still can’t see em, and I was wondering if you know a way I can make them visible or a way I can delete them, maybe my using CMD..
Anyway thanks for reading, and I’ll be refreshing until I can figure out what to do

Answer #1
Doesnt your anti spyware or anti virus remove it?
Answer #2
r u sure its there? go tu or CMD .. go to the respective folder .. type in “attrib” .. see what u got in there.
Answer #3
no it doesn’t detect it, I even found found a website with a lot of anti-viruses that scanned it and it said it was clean, that’s why I opened it, but it’s easy to see that it’s a virus or probably a spyware, because the java application really slows down my computer …
Answer #4
Uhh….. What proof exactly do you have that it’s a virus or trojan? Cause from what I can tell you’re only GUESSING it’s one. But it seems to me that it’s just related to Java. Either way, you should be able to find it in the folders, no idea why it wouldn’t be there. Try running Windows in Safe Mode and see if it shows then.

thanks for the suggestion, and I have also tried erasing with CMD, but can anyone tell me what I need to write between start menu so it understands that it’s a dic.. I write

cd start menu
cd start_menu
cd start%20menu
bu non of it have worked, what do I need to set between them so CMD can understand it?
Edit: I found solution, you have to use “” these, like this cd “start menu”
Answer #6
C:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
(For Vista)
So open up cmd. And you should be in C:\Users\>
Type: cd Appdata
Type: cd Roaming
Type: cd Microsoft
Type: cd Windows
Type: cd Start Menu
You won’t find much like this though. Since you only see a few things of the Start menu there.
Answer #7
^ instead of typing it one by one.. use ur tab mate.. easier
Answer #8
I tried to use erase command and delete them by that, but didn’t work.. I will start in failsafe and see if I can find them, if I can’t I’ll just disable and leave them.. anyway thanks for your helps
Answer #9
That’s your registry.
HKEY_Current_User\Software
You can get there by going to Start->Run->Regedit
