Need For Speed The Run – Unable to change controls

HI
the fix was to turn off numlock and set the arrow keys to move forward and brake on the cars.
i tried it and when i hit a key after having numlock off to change the control, the image of the control being used for that role eg. Acceleration becomes blank and no key is set for the role.
its very annoying and i am still unable to play with the “numlock off fix”.

Buddy I and my friend has same version (I downloaded at his PC and install there and in my PC) but the problem is that his system support settings by Arrow Keys whereas in my system its not allowing me to set Arrow Keys. Don’t know why but its true.
His PC is iCore 7 and mine is Core 2 Duo.
Anyway, the best is to set KEYS W, S, A and D. I finished the game with this settings.

I just tried it, and the car still isnt moving after escaping the red vehicle :S
